高卒。ジャズ好きが高じ、20歳で独学にてトランペットを始める。

2001年より「新宿トラッドジャズフェスティバル」レギュラー出演。以来、スウィング / ディキシー / ニューオリンズ系を中心に活動。またナイトクラブやダンスホールでの現場経験も積み、昭和バンドマンの伝統を継承。

外山喜雄 / 中村誠一 / 山木幸三郎 / デヴィ夫人などとの共演、ドレスコーズ / KOHH / タブレット純 / 北原ミレイなどのアーティストサポートやスタジオワークも経験。

2013年1stリーダーアルバム「My Favorite Horn」、2017年2ndアルバム「ATSUSHI KANNO TRIO」リリース。

ルイ・アームストロングを思わせる音色と、自由自在なアドリブに定評があり、現在もトラッド・ジャズを軸に活動中。

A high school graduate, he developed a passion for jazz and began teaching himself the trumpet at the age of 20.

He has been a regular performer at the Shinjuku Trad Jazz Festival since 2001, focusing his activities primarily on Swing, Dixieland, and New Orleans-style jazz. He also gained practical experience performing in nightclubs and dance halls, carrying on the traditions of the classic Japanese "bandman."

He has performed with artists such as Yoshio Toyama, Seiichi Nakamura, Kozaburo Yamaki, and Dewi Sukarno, and has provided support and studio work for artists including Dresscodes, KOHH, Tablet Jun, and Mirei Kitahara.

He released his first album as a leader, *My Favorite Horn*, in 2013, followed by his second album, *ATSUSHI KANNO TRIO*, in 2017.

Acclaimed for a tone reminiscent of Louis Armstrong and for his fluid, inventive improvisational style, he continues to perform with a primary focus on traditional jazz.
